Lever 8h30 le grand luxe ! Bon honn\u00eatement j&rsquo;aurai pu faire plus mais il y a de belles choses \u00e0 voir dans cette ville. Je d\u00e9marre au ralenti et r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 arriver \u00e0 la bourre au Museum of Flight qui n\u2019ouvre pourtant qu\u2019\u00e0 10h. Le site est superbe, le long de Boeing Field o\u00f9 Boeing a encore pas mal d\u2019activit\u00e9 en particulier les essais en vol et les appareils militaires.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le Museum of Flight est sans doute un des plus beaux mus\u00e9es d\u2019aviation qui m\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 donn\u00e9 de voir. Au niveau du NASM ou de Dayton. La grande galerie tout en verre, tr\u00e8s lumineuse, abrite \u00e0 elle seule une tr\u00e8s belle collection. Point d&rsquo;orgue central, une variante encore unique du Blackbird : le M-21\/D-21, superbement mis en valeur.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.daedalum.org\/photos\/PNW13\/museumofflight\/photos\/IMG_9028-IMG_9035_-_7726x2595.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[459]\"><img alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.daedalum.org\/photos\/PNW13\/museumofflight\/photos\/IMG_9028-IMG_9035_-_7726x2595.jpg\" width=\"600\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Great Gallery<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">H\u00e9ritier direct des premiers A-12 de la CIA, le M-21 \u00e9tait un programme d&rsquo;avion espion furtif portant sur dos un drone espion hypersonique encore plus furtif. Malheureusement un des essais ne se passa pas comme pr\u00e9vu et au moment du largage le drone revint s&rsquo;\u00e9craser contre l&rsquo;appareil porteur, tuant l&rsquo;\u00e9quipage, ce qui marqua la fin du programme. Lors de sa cr\u00e9ation, il fut d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de transf\u00e9rer l&rsquo;usine historique de Boeing distante de quelques centaines de m\u00e8tres du mus\u00e9e et vou\u00e9e \u00e0 la destruction, pour la conserver. C&rsquo;est cette ancienne grange rouge qui bizarrement est plut\u00f4t bien int\u00e9gr\u00e9e au reste du mus\u00e9e pourtant ultra moderne. Le Red Barn est tr\u00e8s bien utilis\u00e9 aussi, avec les machines et moyens de production des d\u00e9buts et des fuselages de Stearman en construction. Enfin le hall WWII \/ WWI est un must avec toutes les machines qu&rsquo;un mus\u00e9e am\u00e9ricain se doit d&rsquo;avoir et bien plus, pour une grande partie reprise de la collection de feu Doug Champlin. J\u2019y passe cinq heures et me d\u00e9cide enfin \u00e0 en partir si je veux profiter du reste de la ville. Au moment ou je pars, un des protos du 787 d\u00e9colle de Boeing Field ! Je loupe la photo.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.daedalum.org\/photos\/PNW13\/Seattle\/photos\/IMG_9655-IMG_9657_-_6170x2221.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[459]\"><img alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.daedalum.org\/photos\/PNW13\/Seattle\/photos\/IMG_9655-IMG_9657_-_6170x2221.jpg\" width=\"600\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Seattle Skyline<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">J&#8217;emprunte la Alaskan Highway qui arrive directement sur le centre ville, une esp\u00e8ce de viaduc \u00e0 deux \u00e9tages qui longe les quais. Je zappe le centre ville et vais directement vers la Space Needle et le Seattle Center pour visiter l\u2019EMP Museum avant l\u2019heure de fermeture. Je d\u00e9barque en pleine Seattle Pride et c\u2019est de l\u2019arc en ciel partout, pour ceux qui sont habill\u00e9s. L\u2019EMP Museum est un mus\u00e9e de la culture pop, en partant de la musique et du rock, en allant jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la Fiction et la Fantaisie. On y trouve les guitares d&rsquo;Hendrix et de Kurt Cobain, pleins d&rsquo;instruments ayant appartenu \u00e0 des sommit\u00e9s, leurs tenues de sc\u00e8ne etc. Int\u00e9ressant mais vite visit\u00e9. C\u2019est mignon mais la plupart des \u00e9tales sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 vide \u00e0 l\u2019heure \u00e0 laquelle j\u2019arrive et il ne reste rien \u00e0 se mettre dans le viseur. Je poursuis sur la Public Library qui est un beau b\u00e2timent d\u2019architecte. J\u2019arrive \u00e0 18h et elle ferme &#8230; \u00e0 18h. Le gardien m\u2019autorise \u00e0 traverser le b\u00e2timent, deux photos et ouste ! Non loin de l\u00e0 figurent sur ma carte deux sites \u00ab\u00a0notables, Smith Tower et Klondikle NP. Un parc national en pleine ville, chose assez rare, d\u00e9di\u00e9 aux chercheurs d&rsquo;or de la grande \u00e9poque. Joli point de vue, \u00e7a me rappelle San Diego. J\u2019en profite pour manger un morceau puis revient sur la Space Needle. Construite pour l&rsquo;Expo Universelle de 1962, et haute de 184m, son design futuriste de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque n&rsquo;a pas vraiment vieilli et elle continue \u00e0 donner \u00e0 la skyline de Seattle des airs de Kennedy Space Center. Au sommet, vous pouvez d\u00eener aux chandelles dans le restaurant panoramique rotatif qui vous fait parcourir les 360\u00b0 de l&rsquo;horizon le temps d&rsquo;une entr\u00e9e \/ plat \/ dessert. S&rsquo;il n&rsquo;est pas l&rsquo;heure de manger, vous pouvez simplement acc\u00e9der au balcon via les ascenseurs express. Le temps d\u2019acheter les tickets et de faire la queue pour l\u2019ascenseur, la lumi\u00e8re est nickel et le Mt Rainier est bien d\u00e9gag\u00e9. 15min l\u00e0-haut, le temps de faire les photos, et je redescends pour prendre la route au Nord et trouver mon motel pour la nuit.
